Job summary

Palms Casino Resort is seeking a General Engineer to become thoroughly familiar with all aspects of operation and maintenance for fire alarm systems and kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers/freezers, boilers, water heaters, pumps, and plumbing.

The role covers preventative and corrective maintenance, installation of new equipment, and keeping records. Strong reading skills, EPA certification, and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid Nevada driver's license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
• Must be able to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts.
• Preferred: Trade school graduate or equivalent experience.
• Three (3) years of experience in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Refrigeration required.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply technical material, schematics, and blueprints.
• Basic knowledge of Health Department, ADA, and OSHA codes and regulations.
• Must be EPA certified.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other related systems.
• Troubleshoot problems with systems and take appropriate corrective action.
• Respond to emergency situations such as fire, power outage, gas or water leaks.
• Maintain equipment with standard preventative maintenance procedures.
• Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
• Maintain records on all equipment maintenance and repair.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
