Job summary

Palms Casino Resort is seeking a General Engineer to work closely with the Assistant Chief Engineer and gain thorough familiarity with operation and maintenance of fire alarm systems, kitchen equipment, walk-in coolers/freezers, boilers, water heaters, pumps, and plumbing.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have a valid Nevada driver’s license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.
• Must be able to work evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• Trade school graduate or equivalent experience preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in refrigeration required.
• Must be able to read, comprehend, and apply technical material, schematics, and blueprints.
• Basic knowledge of Health Department, ADA, and OSHA codes and regulations.
• Must be EPA certified.

Physical Demands

Work is performed both indoors (including coolers and freezers) and outdoors. The candidate must tolerate varying noise levels, temperatures, illumination, and air quality, and may be exposed to smoke. The environment is usually moderate to loud. Tasks include prolonged sitting or standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and moving up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Eye/hand coordination and use of standard office equipment are required.
