Job summary

Jobot in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer responsible for the upkeep and enhancement of chemical handling systems and plant infrastructure. You will oversee equipment procurement, manage projects, and ensure strict safety and environmental compliance within a collaborative, cross-functional team.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and has 7+ years in manufacturing, with proven abilities in troubleshooting and independent project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role within the Manufacturing industry.
• Experience working with hazardous chemicals, chemical handling systems, wastewater/process utilities, or chemical/process infrastructure is preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting capability.
• Proven experience managing projects independently within a plant environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve chemical handling systems and infrastructure.
• Provide equipment specifications and oversee procurement and installation of new equipment.
• Handle hazardous chemicals, ensuring safe storage, usage, and disposal in compliance with regulations.
• Utilize mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting to diagnose and support plant/process equipment.
• Independently manage and own projects/processes within a plant environment.
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Engineering, contractors/vendors, and other teams.
• Regularly inspect facilities and systems to identify potential problems and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
