CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Engineer for on-site work in Westborough, MA. You will perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and coordinate with vendors to ensure client site readiness.

The role requires hands-on skills in carpentry, painting, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and related trades, with attention to safety, codes, and efficiency. Strong organizational and communication abilities are essential for day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or trade school diploma with 2+ years of related experience.
• Universal CFC certification preferred; additional certifications in electrical, mechanical, HVAC or related areas are a plus.
• Meet physical requirements including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, climbing stairs or ladders.
• Strong communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Self-starter with proactive approach and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Comply with codes, regulations and safety directives for building operations.
• Review work orders, estimate time and materials, and coordinate with requestor.
• Order materials, schedule vendors, and track progress on tasks.
• Perform daily facility tours and document findings, recommending repairs.
• Coordinate with outside contractors for snowplowing, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and events.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and support 3rd party vendors.
• Travel to local client locations up to 20% and support other sites.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Facilities Engineer – On-Site - Westborough, MA.

About the Role:

Utilizes skills to perform preventive maintenance and corrective repair of building, systems, equipment and grounds at our client locations, all within proximity of each other. Working under limited supervision, utilizes skills such as carpentry, painting, furniture assembly, locksmith, minor plumbing and electrical.

What You’ll Do:

• Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Reviews of all work orders submitted. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair and communicates with requestor. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all assigned tasks. Schedules vendors as needed
• Performs daily facility tours, including auditing bathrooms, kitchens and conference rooms. Documents find and proactively recommend appropriate actions for repairs. Ensuring facility is maintained to client specifications from an organizational and safety perspective
• Acts as a liaison with work being performed by outside contractors as needed. Contracted work includes snowplowing, remodeling, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, food service, event and equipment setup and breakdown and cleaning.

• Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
• Occasional weekend work. Support 3rd party vendors completing contracted work
• Travel to other local client locations. 20%

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 2 + years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
• CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES Universal CFC certification preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
• Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
• Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
• Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
• Self-starter and being proactive are very important.
