Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s Shady Grove Medical Center seeks an experienced Building Engineer 1 for its Facilities Department in Rockville, MD. You will perform daily service requests, diagnose malfunctions, and carry out preventive maintenance on hospital systems to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years’ experience in mechanical/general contracting or hospital settings, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years’ experience in mechanical/general contracting or hospital service environment.
• Industrial or hospital experience preferred.
• Graduate of trade or vocational school in related field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic daily service requests and respond to work orders.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, buildings and facilities per SOPs and safety policies.
• Conduct daily rounds and inspections of mechanical rooms and systems.
• Monitor building systems and report serious issues for scheduling and repair.
