Job summary

Hines is seeking a Building Engineer to maintain and service building systems, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing. You will review operating conditions, perform preventive maintenance, and resolve abnormal issues in collaboration with the Supervisor.

You will support life safety, emergency procedures and work with contractors to sustain safe, reliable operations on site. Occasional inspections and documentation are expected as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Two years commercial HVAC or related experience.
• Intro to Engineering training program completed.
• Able to read instructions and manuals and use basic testing equipment.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal; safety-conscious.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, mechanical systems and related equipment.
• Adjust HVAC equipment and controls to maintain operating criteria.
• Repair building components including fixtures, plumbing and electrical.
• Participate in water treatment chemical programs.
• Maintain operation logs and inspection records.
• Ensure safe operations and comply with safety policies and regulations.
• Respond promptly to tenant requests and coordinate with supervisors and contractors.
• Assist with emergency procedures and life safety systems.
