Job summary

The Caterpillar Large Engine Center in Lafayette, IN seeks a self-motivated facilities engineer with electrical trade skills to design, construct, install, and maintain systems for plant operations. You will guide maintenance and improvement of facilities and manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and cost targets.

You will collaborate with the facilities engineering team, manage projects, and act as primary contact for design, equipment specs, and vendor

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of plant facilities management and infrastructure.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and facility systems integration.
• Experience with cost reduction, safety, and ergonomics in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Create technical specifications for facilities projects.
• Assess new equipment against Caterpillar specifications and modify as needed.
• Oversee project costs, prepare proposals and purchase requisitions.
• Troubleshoot building services and equipment to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Coordinate between disciplines to ensure successful project completion.
• Lead and supervise outside contractors when required.
