Job summary

Jacksonville Housing Authority seeks a Facilities Engineer Educational Trainer to blend technical facility management with instructional leadership. The role maintains, upgrades and optimizes building systems while designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for staff, contractors, or stakeholders.

The position combines hands-on technical work with educational leadership to improve operational performance and workforce competence, in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management or Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in facilities engineering or related role with leadership experience.
• Certifications such as IFMA, BOMA, OSHA, PMP or LEED AP are advantageous.
• Proficiency with Building Management Systems, Yardi, AutoCAD, SAP, MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and monitor building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, structural) for performance, safety, and compliance.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors for repairs, upgrades, and renovations.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability programs.
• Document maintenance activities, incidents, and inventory; respond to emergencies promptly.
• Lead contractor coordination and blueprints interpretation.
• Coordinate emergency responses to facility incidents.
