Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Building Engineer in Richardson, TX to monitor, maintain and repair MEP systems across data center facilities. You’ll perform rounds, troubleshoot critical equipment and oversee third-party vendors to meet strict uptime standards.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with power infrastructure (UPS/generators) and cooling systems, plus strong safety training and documentation skills. This role supports the Engineering and Technical Services function and requires

Qualifications

• Experience with building operations and data center environments.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to read and follow mechanical and electrical drawings and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Rounds & Tours: Inspect mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and identify potential issues.
• Operations & Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot and repair critical equipment; oversee third-party vendors.
• Procedure Execution: Update and follow SOPs, MOPs, and ESOPs during operations.
• Technical Excellence: Apply knowledge of power infrastructure (UPS, generators, switchgear) and cooling systems to optimize reliability.
• Incident & Escalation Management: Adhere to policies for incident reporting and escalate issues to Site Lead.
• Safety & Training: Complete safety training and ensure site staff and contractors comply with OSHA guidelines.
