Job summary

JBG SMITH seeks an on-site engineer to maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across our properties. You will supervise staff, perform tours, adjust HVAC, monitor automation, and document maintenance in our systems.

As a highly skilled technician with at least 4+ years in stationary engineering, you will troubleshoot complex systems, read blueprints, ensure safety, and work flexible hours including overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

Qualifications

Experience maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life-safety systems in large properties.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex building systems using proper tools.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints.
Strong English communication, time management, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate work of subordinate staff on-site.
Operate, maintain, and repair electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
Perform daily mechanical tours to ensure safe, efficient operation.
Adjust HVAC controls to meet tenant comfort and lease requirements.
Monitor automation systems, logs, alarms, and fault reporting; take corrective action.
Conduct preventive and reactive maintenance per standards and document actions.
Respond quickly to service requests and document resolutions in the system.
Perform building maintenance and clean/paint equipment and spaces as needed.
Respond to alarms, identify recurring issues, and follow up for repair.
Maintain accurate logs compliant with company manuals and filing systems.
