Connecticut Convention Center is seeking a Facility Engineer to maintain all assets to a high standard across the venue and Front Street. The role requires on-call, 24/7 emergency readiness and collaboration with the Chief/Assistant Chief of Engineering to complete projects on schedule.

Responsibilities include HVAC, lighting, plumbing, and carpentry repairs, as well as energy conservation, inspections, and supervising external contractors. Strong communication and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• Maintenance experience in a convention center or large venue.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/holidays.
• Able to work at heights >30 ft.
• Clear verbal/text/email communication.
• Independent and team player with problem-solving mindset.
• Swift response to emergencies with safety as priority.
• Adaptable to changing environments.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Forklift and aerial lift certification are a plus (training available).
• Basic computer skills and MS Office.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine breakdowns.
• Manage tasks on the property.
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression, lighting, and related systems.

Responsabilités

• Provide professional guest service and on-call 24/7 emergency response.
• Coordinate with Chief/Assistant Chief of Engineering to complete projects on time.
• Perform repairs in HVAC, lighting, plumbing, kitchen equipment, painting, and carpentry.
• Inspect premises and equipment regularly.
• Ensure energy conservation across electrical, HVAC, and water systems.
• Operate facility management software independently.
• Oversee external contractors for specialized repairs.
• Attend weekly meetings and assist as requested by Engineering leadership.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and equipment.
• Keep all mechanized equipment and tools in good condition.
