Job summary

Morgan Benjamin Search Group is seeking a Facilities Engineer for its Houston team. This hands-on role supports production facilities across assets and requires ~2–8 years of upstream facilities experience with travel to field operations.

The engineer will assist with capital projects, facility modifications, production optimization, equipment reliability, and day-to-day operations while collaborating with Operations and other engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
• Approximately 2–8 years of upstream facilities experience.
• Experience with production equipment and facility projects from scope to startup.

• Troubleshoot facility and equipment performance issues and improve reliability.
• Travel to field operations ~20–30%.

Morgan Benjamin Search Group is partnering with a growing upstream oil & gas operator to hire a Facilities Engineer for its Houston team. This is a hands on engineering role supporting production facilities across the company’s assets.

We are looking for an engineer with approximately 2–8 years of upstream facilities experience who enjoys both technical engineering and field execution. This individual will support capital projects, facility modifications, production optimization, equipment reliability, and day to day operational needs while working closely with Operations and other engineering disciplines.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants greater ownership and visibility within a smaller, fast moving operator environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, planning, and execution of upstream production facility projects
• Develop project scopes, cost estimates, equipment specifications, and bid packages
• Coordinate with engineering consultants, equipment vendors, contractors, and field personnel
• Support projects through engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup
• Evaluate and optimize oil, gas, and produced water handling systems
• Troubleshoot facility and equipment performance issues and recommend solutions to improve reliability, production, and operating costs
• Support brownfield facility modifications, debottlenecking, and equipment replacement projects
• Work closely with field Operations to identify and resolve production and facility issues
• Maintain and review P&IDs, equipment lists, drawings, and other engineering documentation
• Participate in MOC, root cause analysis, reliability, and mechanical integrity initiatives
• Support facility safety, regulatory, and emissions compliance
• Travel periodicy to field operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Approximately 2–8 years of upstream oil & gas engineering experience with exposure to production facilities
• Experience with production equipment such as separators, tank batteries, heater treaters, gas compression, VRUs, LACT units, pumps, pipelines/flowlines, and produced water systems
• Experience supporting facility projects from initial scope through construction and startup
• Ability to work effectively with Operations, contractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Strong technical troubleshooting, organization, and project execution skills
• Comfortable working in both an office and field environment
• Willingness to travel approximately 20–30%

• SCADA, automation, instrumentation, or controls exposure
