Howard University Hospital is seeking an Electrician to join our Facilities Management team. You will perform maintenance and repairs on hospital electrical systems up to the secondary distribution panel, ensuring power, lighting and signal systems stay dependable across a 24-hour operation.

This role requires a High School Diploma or GED, at least three years of electrical experience, NEC knowledge, and the ability to read drawings and technical documents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three years electrical experience required.
• Knowledge of low voltage systems and wiring principles.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and NEC.
• Ability to read drawings and technical documentation.
• Willingness to work varied shifts and on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Check, test, and repair electrical components and lighting fixtures.
• Connect wiring to fixtures and power equipment; splice wires as required.
• Inspect electrical circuits and equipment for safety and reliability.
• Mount motors, transformers, and fixtures; complete circuits.
• Isolate defects in wiring and equipment and make repairs.
• Respond to on-call system problems and support compliance programs.
