Job summary

Columbus Consolidated Government is seeking an intermittent staff electrician/carpenter to perform maintenance on city-owned facilities and support Civic Center events. Responsibilities include wiring, installing outlets, repairing doors and equipment, and providing minor plumbing/HVAC duties.

Requires basic electrical knowledge, blueprint reading, tool use, and a valid driver's license. This role involves assisting other trades, organizing work orders by priority, and performing preventive

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical supplies and materials.
• Knowledge of national electrical codes.
• Ability to read voltage meters, blueprints, and electric schematics.
• High school education with apprenticeship/internship experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry repair and maintenance on city-owned facilities.
• Assist other trades and civic center maintenance staff as needed.
• Repair sliding doors and kitchen equipment.
• Perform plumbing and minor HVAC duties.
• Carry out preventive maintenance.
• Organize work orders by priority and determine supplies needed.
• Install and maintain temporary electrical services for events.
• Install electrical outlets and wire cubicles.
• Repair or replace speaker controls, cameras, monitors, and electric motors.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
