Job summary

Maricopa County is seeking a full-time Electrician for the Operations and Maintenance division to perform journey-level electrical work, including installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in county facilities. The role emphasizes quality work and customer service, with operations 24/7.

Requires three years journey-level experience, high school diploma or GED, and an apprenticeship option.

Qualifications

Three years of journey-level experience in a commercial and/or industrial electrical work environment.
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of an apprenticeship program or vocational education in the electrical field may substitute for up to one year of the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair electrical motor control systems.
Install electrical circuits from 120V to 480V; lay out, bend, and install conduit.
Perform load calculations.
Maintain, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment and the distribution system.
Document information on the preventive maintenance program and maintain the major maintenance spreadsheet for pending repairs.
Modify and update systems to conform to code.
Perform inspections of building envelopes.
Estimate time and order materials for projects and repairs.
Other job duties as assigned.
