Job summary

Pima County's Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an Electrician to perform journey-level maintenance, repair, diagnosis and preventive work on commercial/industrial electrical systems (120V-13KV) to support park facilities and public infrastructure.

The role emphasizes fabrication or modifications, testing backup power, documenting work, and coordinating with other units and contractors to ensure reliable service and safety. A completed electrician apprenticeship is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an industry-recognized apprenticeship program in the electrician trade AND one year of experience performing journey-level electrical work.
• Two years of experience with Pima County as a Trades Maintenance Technician or Facilities Management Specialty Trade Technician as an electrician maintaining commercial electrical systems and distribution lines of 120V to 13KV.
• Qualifying education and experience must be clearly documented in the Education and Work Experience sections of the application.

Responsibilities

• Performs journey-level maintenance, repair, diagnosis, troubleshooting, construction, fabrication, and preventive maintenance involving commercial/industrial-level electrical work.
• Leads others in fabrication or modifications of equipment, facilities, systems or components from plans or drawings.
• Provides testing and documentation on emergency power backup systems and maintains records.
• Inspects, services and maintains tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Coordinates activities with other units, agencies or contractors to maximize resources and minimize disruptions.
