Maricopa County is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair county facilities, ensuring spaces, structures, and infrastructure stay in proper operating condition through routine, scheduled, or anticipated work. The role requires two years of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Arizona driver’s license by time of hire.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience involving a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, including semi-skilled trades tasks.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver’s license by the time of hire and have an acceptable driving record.
• Must complete a Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) background investigation to access County detention facilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and Maximo preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and correct all repairs associated with a specific work order, including routine and/or emergency repairs.
• Respond to assigned service calls in person in all Maricopa County buildings, working within the system to finalize work orders.
• Replace air filters, drive belts, ballasts, light bulbs, light switches, wall outlets, and low-voltage motors, managing work priorities on site.
• Operate hand tools and power equipment necessary to perform various building maintenance and repair tasks.
• Perform other trades activities, such as carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, and mechanical maintenance.
• Operate computers and mobile devices for time management, inventory, work assignments, and other related functions.
• Other job duties as assigned.
