Job summary

NY CREATES is seeking a Facility Electrical Technician to operate, maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems at our Albany campus. The role includes fire alarm, security, HYAC control systems, power transformers and related building systems.

This on-site position requires a Journeyman Electrician with strong safety and procedural knowledge. The ideal candidate has at least five years of field experience, can read electrical diagrams, work from heights with PPE, and communicate effectively

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of continuous work as a Journeyman Electrician.
• Ability to work from drawings and electrical circuitry diagrams.
• Working at heights using ladders, scaffolding and JLG equipment with PPE.
• Good communications skills and proficient use of Microsoft Office and maintenance management programs.
• Independent work ethic and ability to respond during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot medium and low voltage electrical systems, fire alarm, security, and HYAC control systems, and transformers (power, control, buck and boost).
• Cut, bend and install conduits and raceways, including flexible conduit.
• Install fusing, circuit breakers and other current-limiting devices.
• Use digital multimeters and meggers; follow confined space and lock-out tag-out protocols, NFPA 70E and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain cleanroom and office environments, including HVAC, exhaust and mechanical systems.
• Understand related disciplines such as process, waste and water treatment, automation; respond to facility alarms.
• Support customer satisfaction and emergency operations; essential personnel during incidents.

NY CREATES is seeking applicants for Facility Electrical Technician. This position is responsible for the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Responsibilities for Facility Electrical Technician

Duties to include but not be limited to the following:

• Operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of medium and low voltage electrical systems, fire alarm, security, and HYAC control systems, and transformers i.e. power, control, buck and boost
• Cutting, bending and installing of all forms of conduits and raceways, including flexible conduit;
• installation of fusing, circuit breakers and other forms of current limiting devices;
• working_ knowledge of digital multi-meters and meggars, and as well as confined space and lock-out tag-out protocol, NFPA 70E and OSHA regulations
• working knowledge of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, exhaust, and mechanical systems supporting cleanroom and office operations preventive maintenance
• an understanding of related disciplines such as process, waste and water treatment, automation; responding to facility alarms
• customer satisfaction and support
• This is an essential personnel position for the maintenance and operation of the campus during an emergency situation.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements for Facility Electrical Technician

• Five (5) years of continuous work as a Journeyman Electrician;
• A professional appearance and attitude with the ability to conduct work in an independent manner
• The ability to work from drawings and diagram electrical circuitry, etc.
• The ability to work from heights using ladders, scaffolding, JLG, etc. and the use
• PPE; lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
• Off shift coverage
• Good communications skills and proficient use of Microsoft Office and Maintenance Management programs.
