Job summary

Cindavi in Montpelier, IA is seeking a hands-on Facilities Electrical Engineer to own the electrical backbone of our premier green-energy manufacturing site. You will split time between high-voltage substation assets and major electrical capital projects, mentoring daily and driving safe, reliable power.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical power distribution, transformers and MV safety.
• Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration with onsite techs, leadership and contractors.
• Proactive learning attitude and reliability in a heavy industrial, hands-on environment.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and remain calm during critical power issues.

Responsibilities

• Substation & Power Distribution Ownership: conduct routine health checks and oversee HV/MV distribution operations.
• System Studies & Relay Programming: perform coordination studies and program relays using GE/Multilin and Schweitzer software.
• Capital Project Management: develop and manage electrical capital projects from concept to completion with accurate single-line drawings.
• Contractor Oversight: supervise third-party electrical contractors to ensure safety and high standards.
• High-Voltage Maintenance & Safety: support safety initiatives and coordinate LOTO procedures for 5kV motors.
• 24/7 Emergency Response: provide on-call coverage to keep operations safe and running.
