Job summary

The Lorain County Commissioners are seeking a qualified leader for the Facilities Management Department (FMD) to oversee Lorain County-owned and leased facilities, including construction projects, property management and maintenance services. The role ensures effective space planning, policies, and daily operations across county buildings and grounds.

The successful candidate will plan, direct and coordinate all departmental activities, manage the budget, supervise staff, and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, mechanical engineering, public administration, construction management or related field.
• Five years of facilities management experience in building and grounds maintenance programs or related area.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of general construction, maintenance/repair and project management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and coordinate all activities of the Facilities Department.
• Develop and monitor the departmental budget; supervise personnel.
• Oversee design, construction, operation and custodial services for Lorain County facilities.
