Job summary

Santa Maria Post Acute is seeking a Maintenance Director in Santa Maria, CA to oversee the maintenance operations of a 55-bed skilled nursing facility. You will ensure a safe, clean environment and supervise maintenance staff with hands-on leadership.

Ideal candidates will have supervisory experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and knowledge of budget planning. This full-time role requires reliable English language proficiency and the ability to work well with residents,

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent and basic training in electrical, plumbing, heating, and HVAC systems.
• Supervisory experience is also required for this position.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language
• Strong organizational skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work well with others
• Knowledge of budget preparation process, and ability to positively interact with personnel, customers, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Maintenance Department and perform hands-on maintenance work
• Maintain the building in good repair and hazard-free, ensuring compliance with laws
• Maintain records and reports, and participate in budget planning for the Maintenance Department
• Order and requisition supplies and equipment as needed, and orient and instruct maintenance personnel
• Participate in and plan in-service programs, and attend Department Head Meetings and sit on required committees
• Recruit, interview, hire, and provide orientation for all maintenance department staff
