Job summary

YMCA of the USA is seeking a Facilities Director for the Jackson location. This role oversees maintenance, housekeeping, and fleet operations across multiple buildings and two pools, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient daily operations.

The position requires a Bachelor's in facility management or related field, 3+ years in facility management, and certifications in CPR/First Aid/AED, CDL, and Pool operation within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in facility management or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Three or more years of experience in facility management or closely related field.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, carpentry, housekeeping, and related equipment.
• Supervision and budget management experience.
• CDL and Pool operator certifications required within 150 days.
• Ability to obtain Boiler Operator/Stationary Engineer license per MI LARA.
• Bus driver license with clean driving record per YMCA standards.
• On-call availability within 15 minutes for safety/emergencies.
• Strong organization and computer skills; problem solving with vendors/customers.
• Plan toward YMCA Team Leader certification within first year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate facility maintenance and housekeeping for multiple buildings and two pools.
• Oversee contractors and review bids; ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Develop annual capital project plans and five‑year facility forecast.
• Manage budgets, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow for maintenance and housekeeping.
• Lead staff and volunteers; recruit, hire, train, and evaluate performance.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA/MIOSHA and other regulations.
• Collaborate with Board committees and report on budgets and projects.
• Respond to safety and emergency needs; maintain vendor/partner relationships.
• Plan and prioritize projects to align with strategic goals.
