Job summary

Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) is seeking an experienced Director of Maintenance and Engineering to lead campus-wide utilities and preventive maintenance operations. The role oversees HVAC, central plant operations, CMMS platforms, and a skilled trades team, ensuring safe and efficient campus facilities.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with eight years in facilities management, including supervision of a large staff, and licenses in Stationary Engineers and/or HVAC

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with eight (8) years of progressively responsible facilities management experience, including supervision of a large workforce.
• First Grade Stationary Engineers License and/or HVAC Masters License required.
• Unexpired Maryland driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for college systems and equipment.
• Supervise Maintenance Supervisors and Maintenance & Utility Managers; provide guidance and direction.
• Oversee building maintenance, central plant operations, and building automation system management.
• Monitor budgets, timesheets, and labor costs; ensure compliance with budgetary constraints.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to meet quality standards.
• Lead recruitment, performance evaluations, and staff development within the department.
