Job summary

The YMCA of Eastern Delaware County invites applications for a Facilities Director to oversee maintenance, safety, and daily operations of our Lansdowne facilities.

You will lead housekeeping and maintenance teams, manage budgets, schedule repairs, and ensure a clean, welcoming environment that supports members, staff and programs in a fast-paced community setting.

Relevant certifications and a hands-on leadership style are essential to keep our facilities safe and inviting.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• 3+ years related experience and 1 year supervisory experience required.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe use.
• Strong mechanical ability.
• Completion of required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Follows maintenance procedures and maintains a visible facility presence.
• Performs preventive and scheduled maintenance including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems; maintains lighting and carpentry tasks.
• Hires, trains, supervises, and schedules staff and volunteers in the department.
• Manages budget for the department.
• Keeps the facility attractive and clean and maintains equipment and areas.
• Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Records and reports repairs; performs repairs as directed.
• Ensures building security and assesses hazardous conditions.
• Orders and maintains inventory of maintenance and housekeeping supplies.
• Sets up furniture/equipment for events according to daily schedule.
• Conducts onboarding and leads housekeeping and maintenance staff.
• Maintains professional attitude and appearance; attends staff meetings and trainings.
• Performs other duties to support YMCA operations.
