Job summary

Senior Living Residences’ Nashoba Park community in Ayer, MA, seeks a Director of Building and Grounds (Maintenance Supervisor) to lead hands-on maintenance, repair work, and a team of technicians. The role covers HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and high-quality environments for residents.

The position offers full-time hours, a Monday–Friday schedule with weekend rotation, and a competitive annual salary range of $70,000–$80,000

Qualifications

• Maintenance trades knowledge including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience supervising or training staff (1 year minimum).
• Ability to manage budgets and oversee department operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work and direct technicians.
• Manage service and maintenance requests from residents; maintain grounds and building appearance.
• Conduct and supervise ongoing and preventive maintenance programs (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, sprinklers, alarms, etc).
• Schedule repairs and routine maintenance of equipment, appliances, and vehicles (including community van).
• Oversee apartment turnovers with rapid turnaround (kitchenettes, carpet, paint).
• Monitor and manage department budget and supervise all staff including housekeeping/laundry.
