Job summary

The Village of Ruidoso is seeking a full-time, non-exempt Custodian/Maintenance worker to perform custodial, janitorial, parks and basic building maintenance duties across village facilities and parks.

Under supervision, you will operate cleaning equipment, assist with department activities and events, and ensure safety compliance with village policies. The schedule is varied, may include weekends and holidays, and requires the ability to lift up to 80 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Six months experience in janitorial, custodian, carpentry and grounds maintenance.
• Must be willing to take and pass drug/alcohol test and pass criminal history checks.
• Must possess and maintain valid New Mexico driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial and janitorial duties within assigned Village buildings, empties trash cans, dusts, and cleans offices, kitchens, restrooms and related facilities.
• Operates cleaning equipment and performs minor repairs on cleaning tools and equipment; handles cleaning fluids safely.
• Maintains Village offices and parks, assists in event setup and cleanup, and supports preventive maintenance tasks.
• Adheres to safety practices, participates in trainings, and reports hazards or incidents promptly.
