Job summary

Winona County in Minnesota is seeking a custodial and maintenance worker to perform a variety of duties including cleaning, building maintenance, and minor repairs across county facilities.

Responsibilities include custodial tasks, grounds maintenance such as snow removal, and basic repairs to doors, locks, lighting, and plumbing, all with safety considerations. A valid driver's license is required and candidate must be able to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience in custodial services or related schooling.
• Two years custodial or building maintenance experience is highly desired.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written assignments.
• Ability to deal tactfully with the public and coworkers.
• Ability to utilize basic computer skills.
• Must pass a personal background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Performs general custodial duties: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning rest rooms, recycling, replenishing supplies.
• Performs grounds maintenance: snow removal, mowing, landscaping, and parking lot maintenance.
• Performs minor maintenance: doors/locks, lighting, plumbing, and furniture assembly.
• Starts up and shuts down equipment as directed by supervisor.
• Assists in County Safety program and safety drills.
• Other duties as assigned.
