Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division Blue Island Worship & Community Center is seeking a Custodian/Maintenance Worker to maintain a clean, safe facility and support program operations.

Responsibilities include janitorial tasks, minor repairs, vehicle cleanliness, and assisting with donations and program setup. A high school diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license are required. This is a non-exempt, full-time role reporting to Corps Officers and the Office Manager.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of basic maintenance skills and ability to perform minor repairs.
• Valid Driver’s license/MVR clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform all necessary janitorial/maintenance duties (empty garbage, mop/sweep floors, vacuum offices).
• Dust as necessary and clean/restroom maintenance.
• Ensure outside area is free of debris; basic lawn care and snow removal.
• Wash window areas, mirrors, and door frames; assist with inventory and restocking.
