Job summary

The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division in Elgin is hiring a Custodian/Driver to maintain a safe, clean facility and support program activities. This role combines custodial duties with vehicle driving responsibilities to support pantry deliveries and corps events.

You will perform cleaning, handle light maintenance, operate the corps vans, and assist with setup for meetings and activities, reporting to the Corps Officers.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Basic maintenance experience is beneficial.
• Valid IL driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
• Clear TSA MVR background check is required.

Responsibilities

• Custodial duties: clean the building, bathrooms, and offices; set up classrooms and rooms for activities.
• Driving duties: operate corps vans, perform pickups, and assist with maintenance as needed.
• Other duties to support corps operations as assigned by the Corps Officers.
