Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Custodian I to perform daily janitorial duties and minor repairs at various facilities. You will ensure cleanliness, safety, and order; assist with set-ups for meetings and events; and travel between VOALA Children Services sites as needed.

Requirements include fingerprint clearance, TB and vaccinations, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a California driver's license. The role supports education, health, and community programs in the Los Angeles area.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background checks.
• TB clearance within 6 months prior; influenza, pertussis and measles vaccines.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and move quickly in a busy environment.
• California Driver's license in good standing and valid insurance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain interior and exterior facility cleanliness, including parking area and grounds.
• Perform daily janitorial tasks and restock bathrooms; handle room linen as needed.
• Assist with minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, painting) and safety checks.
• Set up rooms for meetings and events; travel to multiple VOALA Children Services sites as required.
• Adhere to safety codes and maintain supplies and tools in secured storage.
