Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is hiring a Custodian to keep our facility clean, safe and well-maintained on a daily basis. You will perform janitorial duties, assist with minor repairs, and help prepare rooms for meetings and events in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires on-site work, ability to follow safety protocols, and willingness to pass background checks. VOALA offers competitive benefits and supports our mission to assist vulnerable communities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance and background check
• DOJ Live Scan
• TB test
• Flu Vaccine (or declination form - for religious purposes only)

Responsibilities

• Maintain interior and exterior of the facility, including building, parking lot and grounds, in good condition.
• Daily cleaning of assigned areas using various cleaning products.
• Restock bathrooms and wash/replace room linen daily or as required.
• Dust, wash windows, empty waste cans and vacuum lobby area and hallways.
• Perform minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, painting) and assist maintenance as needed.
• Set up rooms for meetings, classes and events and ensure tools and supplies are stocked.
• Report safety deficiencies and follow local, building, OSHA and EPA requirements.
