Job summary

Layton City is seeking an experienced Custodial Supervisor to oversee housekeeping and maintenance of city buildings. The role includes supervising custodial staff, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and 4 years' related experience, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to respond on-call within 20 minutes when needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school plus four (4) years of experience performing the above or related duties.
• Knowledge of supervisory techniques; working knowledge of cleaning requirements and practices; knowledge of methods related to building maintenance; basic knowledge of plumbing; basic knowledge of personal computers; knowledge of electrical diagnostic testing.
• Ability to coordinate with contracted custodians, oversee janitorial services, and communicate effectively; willingness to work on-call and respond quickly.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and follows the city's mission statement, values and expectations.
• Performs custodial duties including sweeping, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, window cleaning, restroom cleaning, trash removal.
• Checks security of buildings, maintains entrances, and oversees custodial areas with checklists.
• Performs minor repairs and basic maintenance; tracks inventory and processes invoices.
