Job summary

Crossroads YMCA in Schererville, IN is looking for a Custodian to keep our facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for members and the community. This part-time role offers hands-on work, independence, and teamwork to maintain restrooms, common areas, floors, and equipment throughout the facility.

The successful candidate will be reliable, able to follow cleaning procedures, lift up to 50 pounds, and work a flexible schedule including afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Six months or more of related custodial or cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand cleaning instructions, procedures, manuals, and safety information.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to travel to other Crossroads YMCA branches within Lake County as needed.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
