Job summary

The City of Springfield, Oregon, is seeking a custodian to perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance for City Hall. This position works independently in secure spaces and buildings closed to the public.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm, with occasional evenings and weekends during events. Benefits include a comprehensive medical package, HRA, sick leave, vacation, holidays, gym membership, and participation in PERS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, and 1-2 years of custodial experience or other relevant experience.
• Equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience may meet minimum qualifications.
• Preference for experience with floor waxing machines.

Responsibilities

• Cleans floors, carpets, windows, walls and fixtures.
• Vacuums and steam cleans carpets.
• Waxes, strips, buffs and polishes floors.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms and replenishes supplies.
• Responds to spills and urgent cleaning situations.
• Orders cleaning supplies and maintains stock levels.
• Operates cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
