Job summary

City of Corvallis is seeking a part-time janitorial worker to perform sweeping, mopping, cleaning, sanitizing, and trash removal across City facilities. The role includes assisting with maintenance tasks, light repairs, and event-space setup, with occasional grounds care and inventory monitoring.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of janitorial experience, strong safety practices, and a customer-service orientation. Flexible hours and reliable attendance are required.

Qualifications

• One year of janitorial and building maintenance work in a large facility.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
• Experience cleaning, sanitizing, and waste removal.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, clean and sanitize facilities including locker rooms, lavatories, and meeting rooms; empty trash.
• Assist with maintenance projects; perform limited maintenance, replace light bulbs, replenish supplies, wash windows, make minor repairs.
• Set up indoor/outdoor event spaces; clean and sanitize tables, chairs, windows, counters and other surfaces.
• Monitor inventory of custodial supplies as directed.
• May perform basic grounds maintenance: pressure-washes sidewalks, vacuums debris, mows, weeds, trims, waters.
• Move items within facility or between City facilities.
• Maintain records of custodial activities.
• Adhere to safety rules and work in a safe manner.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective work relationships.
• Arrive on time and maintain regular attendance.
