Responsibilities

• Keep buildings in clean and orderly condition; maintain appearance and cleanliness of floors; wash interior surfaces such as walls, ceilings, windows, etc.; maintain grounds around buildings; empty waste receptacles; move furniture; perform related work as required.
• Provide cleaning/maintenance services to ensure assigned premises are properly cleaned and maintained.
• Perform a combination of activities to keep buildings clean, including cleaning assigned areas and minor repairs with hand tools and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and appearance of floors by sweeping and mopping and using custodial equipment such as polishers, buffers, vacuums and carpet shampooers.
• Wash interior surfaces using appropriate supplies and equipment.
• Empty waste receptacles and dispose of waste; dust and polish furniture.
• Operate freight elevators to pick up and deliver clothing, laundry, equipment, etc.; maintain grounds by mowing, raking leaves, weeding.
• Perform outside duties such as washing windows, sweeping walks, shoveling snow, picking up trash; prepare grounds as needed.
• Load/unload equipment, move furniture, set up furniture; provide on-the-job training and orientation to employees.
• Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness and safety; maintain records of unit activities.
• Operate an electrically-powered combination scrubber and vacuum floor machine.
