The Shed in New York, NY seeks a part-time Extra Utility Worker/Custodian to perform cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance across offices, lobbies, galleries, and event spaces. You will operate cleaning equipment, maintain floors and carpets, respond to repairs, and manage trash and recycling in a dynamic cultural facility.

The role requires a high school diploma, reliability, teamwork or independence, and availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.

Competenze

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.
• Ability to stand for the duration of the shift and lift 75 lbs.
• Able to work a variable schedule including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays.

Mansioni

• General cleaning and upkeep of offices, public lobbies, galleries, restrooms, event spaces, dressing rooms, and other spaces.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools: buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees.
• Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish; vacuum and shampoo carpets.
• Respond to maintenance and emergency calls; handle trash removal and recycling.
