Job summary

The Salvation Army Lawn Corps in North & Central Illinois is seeking a Custodian to perform cleaning, maintenance, and setup duties across the building. You will help prepare rooms for corps activities, maintain sanitary conditions, and support program readiness in a flexible, mission-driven environment.

Candidates should have a High School education (or equivalent) and basic maintenance experience. This non-exempt role reports to Corps Officers and offers a wage range of $17.00–$20.40 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School education or its equivalent preferred.
• Basic experience in maintenance and knowledge of related tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Custodian duties including cleaning offices and Chapel; vacuuming carpets and mopping floors.
• Attend to bathrooms and kitchens; restock supplies and manage waste.
• Set up classrooms for corps activities and other weekly events.
• Inspect and maintain building, replace light bulbs, and assist with program readiness.
• Coordinate with Community Service Workers for cleaning and prep for programs.
