Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Waukesha County is seeking a custodian to maintain cleanliness across the facility and grounds, following written and verbal instructions and the organization's policies.

This role requires reading product labels, handling chemicals safely, and lifting up to 30 pounds; responsibilities include restroom and common area cleaning, waste disposal, pool area upkeep, event setup, and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Six months or more related experience preferred.
• Ability to read labels and follow MSDS instructions.
• Physical ability to reach, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work independently with priorities.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize sinks, toilets, showers, restrooms, floors, walls, and windows.
• Empty waste containers inside and outside the building.
• Replace soap, paper towels, and other supplies; report stock issues.
• Assist with pool area cleanliness and general building upkeep.
• Set up furniture and displays for special events.
• Perform sidewalk and exterior cleanup; dispose of trash.
• Monitor spaces to meet regulations in licensed programs.
