Job summary

Avenues Recovery Center in Metairie, LA is seeking a facilities custodian to help keep our center clean and functional. You will perform custodial duties, maintain the property, and support operations under the direction of the Executive Director.

We value reliability and attention to detail; no formal education is required, but two years of related experience is preferred. If you are in recovery, a year of sobriety is expected, with a strong, supportive workplace culture and benefits.

Qualifications

• No formal education required.
• Minimum of two years' related experience preferred.
• If in recovery, a minimum one-year period of sustained sobriety is required.
• Dignified, honest character which models recovery principles.
• Excellent communication, multitasking, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and smooth function of property and plant
• Perform routine custodial duties such as cleaning, restocking, removing garbage etc.
• Provide consistent operational support as required by the Executive Director
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists to ensure cleanliness and upkeep of facility
• Report on all activities completed, escalating any concerns to the Executive Director
