Job summary

The City of Haines City is seeking a dedicated custodian to support the Facility Maintenance Division, ensuring cleanliness and safety across city buildings, offices, parks and recreation sites. You will perform routine custodial tasks, manage supplies, and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

Work is performed in various indoor environments with potential outdoor exposure during events; weekend, holiday, and evening hours may be required. Valid Florida driver’s license helpful.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• One year of related work experience is required.
• Must demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy and safety.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and night events.
• Professional communication and the ability to interact with staff and the public.
• Ability to follow oral instructions and read product instructions.

Responsibilities

• Support Facility Maintenance to maintain cleanliness and safety in City buildings, facilities, and grounds.
• Perform routine custodial duties: vacuuming, dusting, mopping, cleaning restrooms, and emptying trash.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including during city events when required.
• Maintain cleaning supplies and essential tool lists.
• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
