Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a full-time custodian at the Sellersburg campus. Duties include cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas, floor care, snow removal, and assisting with event setup. Reports to the Director of Facilities and participates in a broad facilities program.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of housekeeping methods and maintenance procedures, and reliable, punctual performance. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of housekeeping methods.
• General knowledge of building and grounds maintenance procedures.
• Proven experience, punctuality, dependability and trustworthiness.

Responsibilities

• Performs housekeeping duties including cleaning, trash removal, throughout assigned areas.
• Cleans, waxes, and maintains floors throughout assigned areas.
• Maintains cleanliness of restrooms.
• Maintains cleanliness of parking lots, sidewalks, and grounds using available equipment.
• Performs snow removal when required.
• Provides general service in response to select work requests.
• Performs other duties as assigned consistent with commonly accepted practices.
• Assists in event set-up and tear-down when necessary.
