Job summary

Mericle Construction, Inc. is seeking a Facilities Crew Lead to direct daily maintenance and small-scale projects across our properties in the Scranton area. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, safety, and coordinating crews and vendors to meet high standards of quality.

You will oversee a range of maintenance tasks, mentor team members, and ensure timely completion while maintaining safe, professional operations. This full-time opportunity offers comprehensive benefits and growth potential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade-related training preferred.
  • Leadership, supervisory, or crew coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment operation, and workplace safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prioritize daily and weekly maintenance activities based on operational needs, project requirements, and available resources.
  • Assign work to team members and contractors, communicate expectations, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform and oversee facility maintenance and improvement projects, including repairs, painting, floor preparation, cleaning, landscaping, material installation, and general property upkeep.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership, training, and support to team members on maintenance procedures, equipment operation, workmanship standards, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, vendors, and other resources required to complete assigned projects.
  • Monitor team performance and key operational metrics, including productivity, work completion, quality, scheduling, and safety.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with management to address performance, scheduling, or resource challenges.
  • Communicate project status, maintenance priorities, material needs, and resource requirements with management and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the planning and execution of larger facility maintenance and property improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a safe, efficient, and professional work environment while maintaining the appearance and functionality of company facilities.

Facilities Crew Lead (Regular Full Time)
Department: Property Maintenance

  • Leadership, supervisory, or crew coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment operation, and workplace safety standards.
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with vendors.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality workmanship.
  • Ability to represent the company professionally with employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Experience operating or overseeing the use of scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other maintenance equipment preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly lift up to 20 pounds. Physical demands include reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and other related activities.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and lead by example in a fast‑paced environment.
