Mechanical Designer (Regular Full Time)
Department: Mechanical

Mericle Construction, Inc. is currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer for our growing, fast paced, design/build HVAC Division.

Mericle Construction, Inc. is the largest, full-service developer of industrial, office, flex, and medical space along Pennsylvania's I-81 Corridor. Mericle has developed more than 100 buildings in the Scranton/Pittston/Wilkes-Barre/Hazleton area. The Mericle team includes licensed architects, land planners, professional engineers, surveyors, licensed electricians, plumbers, carpenters, leasing and marketing professionals, property managers, and more.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems for a variety of building types and participate in the design/build process.
• Prepare construction documents and shop drawings.
• Perform load calculations and duct sizing; specify equipment and interpret mechanical and energy codes.
• Proficient in coordinating with Project Managers and Field Personnel; ensure clear technical communication.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCad and Revit.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred, with minimum 3 years experience in commercial building systems design.
• Competent designing HVAC systems for a variety of building types.
• Capable of performing load calculations, duct sizing, specifying equipment, and interpreting mechanical and energy codes.
• Capable of preparing construction documents and shop drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills required for coordinating with Project Managers and Field Personnel.
• Must be highly motivated and have strong problem-solving abilities.
