Job summary

YWCA Northeast Indiana is seeking a Facility Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, functional environment for our building and grounds. The role involves hands-on repairs, coordinating with external vendors, and ensuring security and operations stay in good order.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in hands-on building maintenance, facilities management or trade services.
• Demonstrated skill using standard hand/power tools with knowledge of minor plumbing, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Source, schedule, and supervise external service contractors and vendors; review scopes and inspect work.
• Maintain inventory of facilities materials, equipment, and office supplies; update records.
• Assist with Emergency Action Plan (EAP), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and document retention/shredding logs.
• Perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance; minor carpentry, plumbing, electrical tasks.
• Oversee security of facilities, alarm systems, and key control; coordinate with emergency services.
• Oversee ordering of maintenance and housekeeping supplies; keep areas clean and well-maintained.
• Assist with weekly donation logistics (drive company van) and coordinate with Advancement Team.
