Job summary

The YMCA seeks a Facilities Coordinator in Columbus, OH to lead custodial operations, support general maintenance, and preserve safety and readiness of the facility. You will work with staff, members, and vendors to keep spaces clean, welcoming, and in excellent condition.

Responsibilities include supervising custodial and maintenance staff, coordinating work orders, inspections, and adherence to youth protection policies. Prior custodial experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED; custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision; handle chemicals safely.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead custodial operations across all facility areas to ensure cleanliness and welcoming spaces.
• Supervise and train custodial and maintenance staff; provide performance support.
• Coordinate vendor relationships and on-site service providers.
• Perform basic maintenance (plumbing, painting, drywall, repairs).
• Process work orders and track maintenance using facility software.
• Inspect building and grounds; address safety concerns and document findings.
• Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal and deep cleaning.
• Maintain inventory and reorder supplies to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Adhere to abuse risk management requirements and youth boundaries.
• Collaborate with staff and community members to foster a positive environment.
