Qualifications

• Positions in this job family involve construction, maintenance, repair or upkeep of buildings, grounds or other state property, with no license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction or renovation of buildings, general maintenance and upkeep of plumbing, heating, AC, electrical and other systems, and minor repairs to machinery or equipment.
• Perform carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings; erect and maintain sheds, frames, fences and doors; repair doors, floors and partitions.
• Install, replace, alter and repair plumbing fixtures; minor repairs to laundry and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain and repair light fixtures, switches, motors, and HVAC components; troubleshoot electrical issues not requiring a license.
• Maintain locks and security devices; cut keys; use tools to adjust tumblers and security hardware.
• Inspect buildings, premises, or equipment for needed repairs; estimate costs; report on work activities.
• May supervise workers in maintenance and repair operations or construction; oversee small maintenance programs.
