Job summary

The 400 OFFICE OF JUVENILE AFFAIRS in Oklahoma is seeking an experienced Construction/Maintenance Technician I/II to perform facility repairs, upkeep of buildings and grounds, and basic systems maintenance. This role requires hands-on trade skills and the ability to work independently to keep the site safe and functional.

Minimum qualifications call for two years of building trades experience for Tech I or four years for Tech II, plus a valid Oklahoma driver’s license and background checks.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in one or more building trades for Construction/Maintenance Tech I.
• Four years of experience in one or more building trades for Construction/Maintenance Tech II.
• Valid Oklahoma driver's license and willingness to travel as required.
• Ability to pass OSBI and FBI background checks.

Responsibilities

• Performs carpentry work in construction or renovation of buildings or additions.
• Erects and maintains scaffolds, sheds, forms, frames, fences and other structures.
• Alters and repairs doors, floors, partitions, stairways, windows and fixtures.
• Installs, glazes, glass in windows/doors and maintains roofs.
• Maintains and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks and faucets.
• Repairs equipment and handles basic plumbing/heating/air conditioning tasks.
• Maintains and repairs electrical systems and light fixtures; operates and services equipment.
• Constructs and repairs foundations, walls, walks and chimneys; uses masonry materials.
• Operates machinery and equipment used in construction and grounds maintenance.
• Supports mission and policies; maintains confidentiality and works well in a team.
