Job summary

State of Oklahoma seeks a Construction/Maintenance Administrator I to oversee construction, renovation, maintenance and repair of state-owned buildings, facilities, grounds and equipment. You will supervise construction/maintenance technicians or licensed trades specialists in both new work and upkeep of existing properties.

The role requires five years of skilled building trade or maintenance experience, with at least two years in supervision, and may require a valid Oklahoma driver's license.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.
• Knowledge of the building trades and construction, maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, or utility systems.
• Ability to supervise skilled workers; analyze maintenance needs; set priorities for crews; communicate effectively; establish relationships.

Responsibilities

• Inspects buildings, premises and equipment; assesses maintenance, construction, or renovation needs; estimates costs for labor and materials; checks progress and final work for code compliance.
• Manages supervisory staff; develops budget; implements policy; ensures compliance with laws, rules and regulations; prepares reports.
• Evaluates bids; prepares specifications for equipment, supplies and vehicles.
• Prepares cost estimates for future capital projects; reviews plans and construction documents.
• Plans, supervises and directs movement of heavy construction equipment across the state.
• Schedules work crews; records time and attendance.
• Completes reports of equipment operations, installation and maintenance work, and materials used.
