Job summary

YMCA of Florida’s First Coast is seeking a part-time Facilities Maintenance assistant to clean and sanitize assigned areas, performing duties such as mopping, dusting, trash removal, and light groundskeeping. The role supports maintenance tasks and event setups, operates cleaning equipment, and helps with basic repairs under supervision.

Qualifications

• Six months or more of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
• Understanding of cleaning chemicals and safe handling.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including mopping, dusting, and trash removal.
• Operates related motorized and non-motorized equipment.
• Records and reports repairs; assists with repairs as directed.
• Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and reports hazards to supervisor.
• Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies.
• May set up furniture for events.
